Steel Pulse Announces ‘Reggae Against Racism’ World Tour 2026

Steel Pulse will take its roots-reggae message across Europe, North America, Africa, Asia and Latin America in 2026. The itinerary connects the band’s long history of anti-racist activism with new songs addressing present-day injustice.

Steel Pulse is carrying its anti-racist message back onto the road with the 2026 “Reggae Against Racism” World Tour. The campaign is built around the band’s roots-reggae catalogue, but it will also introduce new material focused on current struggles for justice. Dates are expected across Europe, North America, Africa, Asia and Latin America, extending a touring legacy that has kept Steel Pulse close to reggae’s protest tradition for more than five decades. The group’s central argument remains straightforward: music can still bring people together when public life is pulling them apart.

Frontman David Hinds has described reggae as a form still closely tied to resistance, particularly as much of popular music has moved away from openly confrontational themes. That position links the 2026 tour to Steel Pulse’s involvement in the United Kingdom’s mid-1970s Rock Against Racism movement. The band helped bring musicians from different backgrounds together as far-right extremism grew more visible. For Steel Pulse, that history is not a distant footnote; it is part of the reason the group continues to frame concerts as spaces for solidarity as well as performance.

The first announced run begins in Germany, where Steel Pulse is scheduled for five consecutive April shows. The Easter series includes Köln, München, Berlin, Dortmund and Hamburg, with Alborosie and Hempress Sativa also named among the artists connected to those dates. The German stretch gives the tour an early European base before the wider itinerary expands. It also places the band’s message in a setting where its anti-racist history carries particular weight, without separating the politics from the live music that first made Steel Pulse a force in roots reggae.

The North American schedule includes appearances at the Austin Reggae Festival, Reggae Rise Up and Reggae In The Desert. Summer dates also list the Marin County Fair and High Sierra Music Festival, followed by additional U.S. shows through July and August. France, the Netherlands and Canada are included later in the reported routing. The itinerary described so far is broad rather than exhaustive, and further dates may fill in the tour’s reach across the other regions named for the campaign, including Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Steel Pulse also plans selected collaborations with local artists and activists, alongside community conversations and cultural events in some cities. Those additions fit the band’s long-standing approach, but the tour’s strongest case will still be made onstage through songs that have carried messages of unity, resistance and social justice across generations. By pairing familiar anthems with newer compositions, “Reggae Against Racism” positions the band’s catalogue as living music rather than museum history. In 2026, Steel Pulse will test whether reggae’s protest voice can remain as direct and necessary as ever.
