Ky-Mani Marley has set August 28 as the release date for Love & Energy, his eighth studio album and first major project in ten years. The 16-track set finds the Grammy-nominated artist working across familiar reggae territory while making room for melodic hooks, love songs and socially conscious writing. It follows a period in which Marley has been performing new material on the road, giving audiences an early feel for an album built less around nostalgia than a continuing conversation about purpose, connection and the energy people bring into the world.

The guest list gives the project much of its musical weight. Sizzla, Gyptian, Agent Sasco, Anthony B, Bugle and Andrew Tosh are all credited across the album, bringing different strains of roots, dancehall and modern reggae into Marley’s orbit. The title song, Love & Energy, pairs him with Iba Mahr and Lutan Fyah. That combination points toward the album’s spiritual center, while the wider lineup suggests a record designed to move between heavyweight cultural statements and more accessible, vocal-led songs.

Marley has described the album’s title as more than a branding choice, calling love and energy a way of life. His explanation places the project in a familiar reggae tradition: personal feeling and wider social responsibility sharing the same space. That idea comes through in the reported track themes. War Inna Babylon, featuring Sizzla and Anthony B, addresses conflict and disorder, while Love Is Key with Gyptian turns toward romance and emotional reassurance. The contrast gives the album a broader range than a strictly roots-focused set.

Two songs have already helped establish the album’s direction. New Creature has been reported as a chart-topping single, built around a message of change, while All This Love leans into a more soulful side of Marley’s delivery. Together, they show how he is balancing conscious lyrics with polished melodies. The record’s appeal will likely rest on that balance: enough roots substance to honor his lineage, but enough warmth and hook-driven writing to avoid treating reggae heritage as a museum piece.

The new material has also been part of Marley’s Love & Energy Tour. He recently completed the European leg, performing several of the album’s songs, including the still-unreleased A Little Bit (I’m Okay). His appearance at Summerjam Festival in Cologne was singled out in the supplied reporting for its response from fans, particularly around the themes of love and unity. Those live performances have given the songs a working shape before the full project reaches listeners.

Marley is next scheduled to appear at Kaya Fest in Toronto on August 22, according to the supplied coverage. The event is set to include Damian Marley, Stephen Marley and Julian Marley, as well as Busta Rhymes and Shabba Ranks. Love & Energy is due through Konfrontation Muzik Group and Dubshot Records, with pre-save availability reported ahead of release. After a ten-year gap between major albums, the project arrives with a clear premise: keep reggae’s message intact while giving it fresh voices and a contemporary frame.
